Acts2.XYZ: New Reality. Real Change.
Therapy will destroy your marriage
February 4, 2023
Often the default motion when there's a challenge in a marriage is therapy. But as I begin to share in Part 1 of this, for Christians especially, most therapy will actually send you into a negative spiral. It did for me, and I begin to make the case for why this is NOT something as a primary resort IF you don't have actual psychological problems (psychosis, addiction, violence).

I want to be clear that this is not intended to insult the people who work as therapists. I am sure intention are mostly good.

But, if you are a therapist, a good signal is whether you care about the outcomes for people you are treating.

In a similar fashion, I think those seeking help in their marriages should really understand the pros and cons of a therapeutic approach and whether that really can help them.

IF at the end of this, which is not medical and psychiatric advice, you should establish how you best get help OR use this to determine what to do next.
